In October of this year, country superstar Clint Black and his wife, singer and actress Lisa Hartman Black, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. The couple, who previously translated their marriage vows into a duet with the 1999 Number One hit “When I Said I Do,” just released the video for another tune about wedded bliss, “You Still Get to Me.” The passionate love letter is a track on Black’s On Purpose LP, released last September.

Written by Black with Victoria Shaw (“I Love the Way You Love Me”), “You Still Get to Me” is a mature, swooning reflection of a couple’s long-lasting affection for one another, delivered with the winning combination of Black’s Texas twang and his wife’s blue-eyed soulfulness. The clip also spotlights photos and video clips of the pair through the years, including shots of their wedding, Grand Ole Opry and other TV appearances and even a bit of them acting in a film together. But for the singer who burst onto the country-music scene with the now-classic 1989 album Killin’ Time, “You Still Get to Me” was simply a slice of real life.

The last time the Blacks harmonized on record was in 2001, the year their daughter, Lily Pearl, was born. That tune, “Easy for Me to Say,” was included on Black’s Greatest Hits II LP.
