Now that he’s finished huntin’ and fishin’, Luke Bryan is concentrating on the lovin’. Bryan unveiled a new song, “Southern Gentleman,” to VIP guests during a recent stop of the Kill The Lights tour and, as the lyrics indicate, he’s got romance on his mind.
“Ain’t nobody gonna love you better than a southern gentleman,” he sings in the intimate, acoustic performance posted on YouTube. Bryan details a relationship that evolves from a first date where he didn’t even go for a kiss to opening the bedroom blinds in the morning and telling his wife she’s beautiful “a thousand times a day.” In between such declarations, he vows to stand up when she walks in the door, tell her he loves her as he holds her close, and rock her on the porch under the magnolia trees.
In a separate video, Bryan sets up the performance of “Southern Gentleman” by saying it’s one of two he wrote for Farm Tour… Here’s To The Farmer, a new EP coming on September 23rd. The release precedes Bryan’s eighth annual Farm Tour, which takes him to small farming communities October 5th to 15th. A portion of the ticket sales at each stop will go to toward funding college scholarships for students from farming families or studying agriculture. Ticket purchasers will receive a code to redeem for a digital copy of the new EP.
With the new EP series, Bryan switches from the beach to the barn. His series of seven Spring Break EPs, released between 2009 and 2015, included two chart toppers. His buddy Cole Swindell has taken over the Spring Break series.
Bryan’s Kill the Lights tour runs through October 1st.
