There will soon be a new apartment complex in Henrietta.
The 48 unit facility will offer market rate apartments as well as units for low to moderate income families.
“We’ve been creating a lot of jobs in the area. We have a travel center that we’ve talked about previously that’s going across the street that’s creating about 30 jobs. We’ve got a brick plant that had their grand opening that created another 45 jobs and to be honest we don’t have that many people in Henrietta looking for jobs. So they’re going to need to come here from somewhere else and we need a place for them to live,” Economic development director Rick Langford said.
The new complex is going to be called the Abbington Vista Apartments.
“They’ll be located actually about fifteen minutes from the Wichita Falls industrial complex which is located very near the Clay County line,” Langford said.
The property will be 300 feet away from the access road of 287 and highway 148.
“We anticipate construction to take about a year,” Langford said.
While there have been some delays with inclement weather, Langford said construction will begin soon.
“It’s going to benefit the community because we did not participate financially in the project. They’ve asked for no tax abatements, they’ve asked for no assistance from our sales tax or economic development department. They’re putting in their own infrastructure,” Langford said.
That infrastructure of water and sewer, Langford said, can be a selling point for people looking to expand in the area.
“We’ll be able to access those utilities in future developments at their expense,” Langford said.
The apartments will be three stories tall and will offer units with one to four bedrooms.
The construction is being paid for by ReaVentures Group, LLC and a Texas investor.
